The GBCFD provides first responder operations for its residents. GBCFD responds to get intial information for EMS and to provide support for EMS.
The GBCFD is also the home to the Cedar Creek Lake Emergency Helipad. The Helipad provides a landing site for Emergency Helicopter operations for those patients in critical condition. This helipad offers extrication to Kaufman, Tyler and Dallas as the injuries might dictate.

East Texas Medical Center Emergency Medical Service (ETMC EMS) provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and transport services to all of Gun Barrel City and East Texas. Also, they provide Emergency Air Evacuation for those critical patients via Air One.
